Skyfall Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tomokazu Hasegawa; hereinafter referred to as Skyfall) has launched a new service, “SKYFLAG Research,” on April 1, 2024 (Monday), with the aim of further improving profitability through its advertising monetization platform “SKYFLAG” and further solving customer issues.
To launch our business, we have absorbed DataLab Co., Ltd., a company specializing in marketing research. Building on DataLab’s track record and business know-how, we will combine the strengths of both companies to enhance the quality of ‘SKYFLAG Research’ going forward.

About ‘SKYFLAG Research’

SKYFLAG Research conducts surveys through over 100 apps and services that utilize the advertising monetization platform SKYFLAG, enabling highly representative research and providing high-quality survey results that meet the diverse needs of our clients.
Furthermore, by conducting surveys across a wide variety of websites, we can obtain responses from younger generations that are said to be difficult to collect through conventional websites, as well as responses from users who have never answered a survey before.
About ‘SKYFLAG Research’ service logo

Regarding the name
As a new element of our user-centric advertising monetization platform, SKYFLAG, we have launched a marketing research business. Just as SKYFLAG has been able to introduce new advertising formats to the internet advertising industry, we aim to introduce new formats to the research industry by providing users with new experiences within the SKYFLAG platform, which is used in a wide variety of service genres. We have named this business SKYFLAG Research.
The meaning behind the logo
While retaining the familiar “SKYFLAG” typeface, we created a bold design that conveys reliability and stability, and added the katakana characters for “Research” using an original font. We adopted the service logo colors of DataLab, which was absorbed and merged with SKYFLAG to coincide with the launch of our marketing research business, to express that this is a service provided by both DataLab and SKYFLAG.
Regarding the impact of the launch of “SKYFLAG Research” on “SKYFLAG”
With the goal of further increasing profitability through media monetization via “SKYFLAG,” the core advertising monetization platform of Skyfall, we have decided to launch a marketing research business.
Since its release, SKYFLAG has achieved high profitability by utilizing long-term CPE reward advertising offers (ads) with deep conversion points. Now, to encourage users to utilize SKYFLAG even more, we aim to increase the number of SKYFLAG users and improve profitability for our client companies by utilizing survey projects with shallower conversion points.
Regarding the acquisition of DataLab
Why Skyfall acquired DataLab
DataLab, which conducts substantive research to address market challenges such as representativeness and authority, is proposing a merger and acquisition (M&A) because its vision and business policies align with those of SKYFLAG Research.
By leveraging the strengths of both companies—DataLab’s research capabilities and SKYFLAG’s robust user base—we believe we can provide our customers with high-quality research results and contribute to the development of the research industry.
Reasons why DataLab decided to join Skyfall
DataLab decided to join Skyfall because combining SKYFLAG’s user base with DataLab’s accumulated research expertise, personnel, and track record will create significant synergies and lead to a big change in the entire market.

Regarding the future of ‘SKYFLAG Research’
Ryosuke Tsuyuki, General Manager, R&C Division, Skyfall Inc.

Just as SKYFLAG, despite being a latecomer, has expanded its market share in the reward advertising industry by pursuing quality in ad delivery, SKYFLAG Research also aims to provide new value to the marketing research industry by pursuing essential research, and to grow into a service that customers gravitate towards.
We are pleased to announce our collaboration with DataLab to develop a marketing research business, and we are confident that this marks a significant step towards providing new value. By combining the strengths of the ‘SKYFLAG’ product with DataLab’s research capabilities, we will grow ‘SKYFLAG Research’.
Yongjun He, General Manager, Research Consulting Division, R&C Business Unit, Skyfall Inc. (Executive Officer Equivalent)

In order to grow into a service that can make a business impact in the market, SKYFLAG Research will carry on DataLab’s legacy and remain committed to “research quality.”
Research exists to gather information in order to support decision-making in a company’s marketing activities. If there is a discrepancy between the actual market sentiment and the collected responses, the company may not be able to make the right decisions, and as a result, it may decide that the research is meaningless or unnecessary.
With the aim of contributing to the development and growth of the entire research industry, we are committed to the quality of our research and to supporting our clients in making sound decisions by providing accurate answers that reflect the true voice of the market.
Munenori Noguchi, General Manager, Research Design Division, R&C Business Unit, Skyfall Inc. (Executive Officer Equivalent)

We hope that SKYFLAG Research can take the lead in the industry by addressing new market challenges. In the future, we aim to be in a position where other research companies will want to emulate the strengths of SKYFLAG Research.
That’s why we’re focused on constantly making improvements to ‘SKYFLAG Research.’ We’re also planning service expansions, and we hope to announce services that can meet the needs of various industries.
We have received many requests for research services to date, so we are focusing on training researchers to be able to respond smoothly to more requests. We aim to strengthen SKYFLAG Research and expand our business by leveraging the skills, experience, and flexibility of our researchers as one of our strengths.
