“LINE Poige” is a game service where users can earn LINE Points by playing games such as “LINE Block Puzzle,” “LINE Sudoku,” “LINE Solitaire,” “LINE Jigsaw Puzzle,” and “LINE Logic Puzzle Game” and clearing specific conditions. The points earned can be used across various LINE services, physical stores, online shopping, and more.
Since its launch, the service had been pursuing monetization through ad formats such as rewarded video ads, banner ads, interstitial ads, and MREC (medium rectangle) ads. Recognizing that “SKYFLAG”—an ad monetization platform that prioritizes the user experience—shared a high affinity with their users and held strong potential for further revenue expansion, they implemented “SKYFLAG” in December 2023.
Objectives of Implementing “SKYFLAG”
・To drive overall ad revenue growth through “SKYFLAG” while maintaining revenue from existing ad monetization channels.
Challenges Prior to the Implementation of “SKYFLAG”
・Difficulty in balancing both revenue expansion and user experience (UX) when implementing advertisements.
Outcomes After Implementing “SKYFLAG”
By regularly running in-game campaigns designed to drive user referrals and introducing newly optimized flows to help users transition smoothly to “SKYFLAG,” the team successfully built an environment where users could easily interact with the platform. This effectively boosted the ad revenue of games featured on “LINE Poige” to approximately 110%.
Furthermore, regarding initial concerns that utilizing “SKYFLAG” might lead to users dropping off to external services, user engagement and session times within the service remained unchanged after implementation, successfully dispelling those worries.
