At a recruitment event for engineers hosted by Levtech, Mr. Ikota of Skyfall introduced initiatives and case studies in engineering recruitment.
Skyfall Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tomokazu Hasegawa; hereinafter “Skyfall”) is pleased to announce that Mitsuharu Ikota, General Manager of the Product Headquarters 2—which develops and operates “SKYFLAG,” an ad monetization platform focused on the user experience—spoke at “Tech Bar,” a recruitment event for engineers hosted by Levtech Co., Ltd. on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
On the day of the event, he shared initiatives including specific interview techniques and hiring criteria used in engineering recruitment, incorporating real-world examples. This release highlights the insights shared during the panel discussion.

Event Highlights
— First, please tell us about the key points regarding your hiring criteria.
Ikota: I aim to build an environment where each employee can thrive and shine over the long term, allowing them to grow and succeed in their own authentic way through Skyfall. That is exactly why we carefully evaluate whether our corporate culture matches the environment a candidate is looking for. To prevent post-hiring mismatches, we also look at information-sharing sites for engineers where candidates publicly share their insights, utilizing it as supplementary material to review their skill sets and areas of interest.
— Next, please tell us a question you always ask during interviews.
Ikota: To gain a deeper understanding of a candidate’s perspective and way of thinking, I always ask how they have contributed to the business in their past professional experiences. Rather than limiting the conversation to the candidate’s technical skills or daily duties, I make sure to check what kind of perspective they held toward organizational goals and results during their past experiences.
For instance, knowing which aspects they prioritized most—such as contributing to revenue or managing a team—clarifies the candidate’s values and priorities. It also serves as crucial material for judging whether the individual can respond flexibly while handling a wide variety of business operations.
— Finally, please share your outlook on engineering recruitment or any message you would like to convey today.
Ikota: At Skyfall, we have a culture that places high value on communication across the entire company. Because of this, I personally focus heavily on the “human” aspect during interviews and casual chats for engineering recruitment. While skill and experience are naturally important, I carefully listen to understand the candidate’s personality and communication style to evaluate whether they fit our company’s atmosphere and can communicate smoothly with members both inside and outside their own department. Since Skyfall is actively strengthening its engineering recruitment, I hope to continue sharing success stories with recruitment professionals handling engineering hiring across various industries.
